When I was asked to create illustration and design work for Rock The Bells, LL Cool J wanted something that felt Hip Hop but also got attendees pumped for an all inclusive resort experience. I infused the idea of an ancient temple hidden away in Hip Hop paradise, only now to be rediscovered by LL Cool J...and now he wants to share the discovery with you....as well as Goodie Mob, Digable Planets and Ice Cube to name a few.
As a Senior Designer, my responsibility was to create illustrations, graphics and brand guidelines which differed, but remained cohesive to the original brand. My work played a crucial role in establishing a brand while generating increased awareness and energy for the festival.
Complexcon is one of the largest art and fashion events in the world, bringing world renowned artists such as Takashi Murakami, Snoop Dogg, and Kid Cudi. One of the premiere booths was a collab between Rhyme Capsule, an art piece and experience celebrating the love of old school analogue Hip Hop cassettes; and Hi 5 agency, an agency in California which has created work for brands such as Nike, Blizzard and Spotify. The central theme for this event was celebrating the evolution of Hip Hop, with guest appearances in a main event featuring artists and rappers Kid, Ras Kass, Xzibit, and Edi Mean.
My role was to help in the design and layout of the art and experiential for the event. I suceeded in creating an intuitive experience which informed attendees of the artists and events through the three days of Complexcon, creating a unique platform and experience for the main event.

Working with Creative Director David Schwartz, we delivered a visual experience for the entrance of the stadium that invoked the 50 year journey of Hip Hop music and culture. MC, DJ, Writer (Lyrical and Graffiti), Breaker and Producer (Think Prince Paul or Rick Rubin) have defined the history and culture of Hip Hop since 1973. By using these as pillars for our creative, we demonstrated an understanding that Hip Hop is more than just rap music - it's a community of art and culture which continues to grow and expand.
